Happyverse - Onboarding & Activation

At Happyverse, I worked on improving onboarding for users creating AI Confidants (Avatars). New users often didn’t understand how to get started or what their first meaningful action should be after signing up. Because the platform supports multiple use cases, the initial setup felt overwhelming and led to early drop-offs.

The goal was to simplify onboarding and guide users toward completing their first Confidant setup — the key activation point.

To improve activation, onboarding shifted from a configuration-first to an intent-led setup.
The new flow begins with defining user intent and guides users through Confidant creation before introducing advanced customization later in the journey.


Additional onboarding guidance was introduced to clarify each step and reduce uncertainty during setup.

The onboarding experience was reorganized to guide users through intent selection, Confidant creation, personality setup, and interaction preview.
Advanced settings were moved to post-activation stages to reduce early complexity and support faster time-to-value.
